Our motherland Sri Lanka

The name of my country is Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. It is an island situated in the Indian Ocean 🫧. Sri Lanka is known as the pearl of the Indian Ocean. In ancient times it was called thambapanni and also serendib. Sri Jayawardanapura is the capital of the country. And Colombo is the commercial center of the country. 

The total population of Sri Lanka is more than eighteen million people. The majority of the people speak Sinhalese. Others speak Tamil as their mother tongue. Majority of citizens follow Buddhism ☸️ others follow Hinduism 🕉️, Christianity ✝️and Islam ☪️. Sri Lanka is a home for all of them. Mahveli is the longest river in Sri Lanka. 

Kelani,walawe and Kalu are other long rivers. Piduruthalagala is the highest mountain. It is still a developing country.

 Sri Lanka is very famous for its ancient places and beautiful natural places. Foreigners come to see places like flower gardens, waterfalls, mountains and other attractive natural places. As well as ancient ruins are there mainly Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Kandy etc. So we have to love Sri Lanka and respect Sri Lanka 🇱🇰.
